A classic panna cotta requires very few ingredients- water, unflavored gelatin, sugar, and heavy cream. Strain the mixture once cooked to get an extremely rich and silky smooth panna cotta.

Dlux Mini Cups is perfect for this custard-like dessert. It can be made ahead of time and kept in the fridge. The individual servings of the shooters we use are 3oz, but panna cotta can be served in different cup sizes too.

Panna cotta is traditionally paired with fruit sauce and we did exactly that to make a perfect blend of flavors. We must say there is no limit to what fruit you can pair with panna cotta, so we made it with an ingredient that is not commonly used. Dragon fruit!

Dragon fruit color ranges from white to pink to magenta. The magenta ones did so much justice to our dessert. The vibrant color is so delightful. You will love to look at your dessert shooter for a few good minutes before devouring. Of course, you must eat it!

The dragon fruit taste is close to kiwi but also has its distinct flavor. Not too sweet but so delicious. If you haven't tried this fruit then you must. An easy match for any choice of fruit, in our opinion.

Blending the sauce will make it smoother and the seeds will not be visible anymore. We, however, love the look of the seeds visible so we skip that step. Just look at how gorgeous the final product is.

  • When I’m making mini anything I want to set at an angle I lay the containers I’m making them in at an angle in empty egg cartons, pour the mixture down the side using a funnel or squeeze bottle and set in the fridge. If you’re only doing 2 layers, once the 1st is set you can stand them upright on a tray and pour in the second mixture.

  • Dragonfruit is an exotic fruit that has gained popularity in recent years. Most grocery stores carry dragonfruit in the produce section. You can also try Whole Foods, Sprouts or specialty markets.

The easiest way is to lean the shooter cups in a muffin tin, then fill the panda cotta into the cups.
